Windows Home Serverに脆弱性、「クリティカル(緊急)」

米Microsoftは2008年1月最終週に，家庭用サーバー「Windows Home Server（WHS）」と中小企業向けサーバー・パッケージ「Windows Small Business Server（SBS）」にも，同社が1月初めに発表した各種WindowsのInternet Group Management Protocol（IGMP）処理のセキュリティ・ホールが存在することを明らかにした。

Microsoftは，この問題を修正できるSBS／WHS向けセキュリティ・アップデートをダウンロード提供している。対象となるのは，SBS 2003 Service Pack 1（SP1），SBS 2003 R2，SBS 2003 R2 SP2，WHS。アップデートはWindows Update経由のほか，セキュリティ情報ページ（英語，日本語）でも入手できる。

The initial bulletin had pegged the threat to Windows Server 2003 as "important," the second highest rating in Microsoft's four-step scoring system. But it was later rated as "critical" for Windows Home Server and Small Business Server.
