ノキアはマイクロソフト・シルヴァーライトをS60に対応させる

フィンランドのNokiaは3月4日、米Microsoftの「Silverlight」を、S60、Series 40、ネット接続端末などで利用できるようにする計画を発表した。これにより、MicrosoftはSilverlight対応を拡大する一方、 Nokiaは同社端末向けアプリケーション開発者に対し、開発環境の選択肢を広げることになる。

シルヴァーライトの特徴はMacでもPCでもケータイでも使えること

Flashと同様に、WindowsやMac OS Xなどのマルチプラットフォーム環境での動作に対応し、1つの実行コードで複数のプラットフォームをカバーできるメリットがある。

Nokiaによると，Microsoftはラスベガスで開催されるWeb技術カンファレンス「MIX08」において，3月5日の基調講演の際に Silverlightを搭載したS60のデモンストレーションを行う予定。S60のSilverlight実装は年内を見込んでいる。
