The other investors speaking on a panel called “Rethinking Venture Capital” - Michael Greeley of Flybride Capital Partners, Jay Eum of Translink Capital and Eric Fitzgerald of MetLife - all agreed that M&A will be the driving force for returns going forward, not IPOs, which made up more than 50% of exits in the 1990s versus less than 10% today.
